Jared Granzow started flying power aircraft at a young age and after obtaining a Mechanical Engineering degree became a professional pilot instead. In 2010, he took his first glider ride and was instantly hooked. Jared progressed quickly and was soon flying long cross county flights and breaking state records in his ASW 27. The desire to fly cross country faster brought him to racing and he has really enjoyed the extra challenges involved with racing, along with the comradery. Jared lives in Columbus Ohio and currently flies a JS 3 based at Central Ohio Soaring Association in Marion, Ohio. He has won numerous Regional Competitions and has been on the podium of several National Contests. He is really looking forward to competing at the WGC in Tábor, Czech Republic.
