I am filling out GOLD ALT GAIN form and it asks for altitudes. I read the OUDIE IGC file and there are two altitudes recorded. One is a “Press Alt” and the second is a “GNSS Alt”.

      Which one for the form?

      Thanks

From the Sporting Code Section 3 Gliding Section 2.4.3 Altitude evidence a) A copy of the calibration certificate of each FR (Flight Recorder) used shall be submitted with the claim. The pressure altitude evidence is to be corrected using the calibration chart data when the precise altitude is critical to the claim.

I think that it might be possible to use GPS altitude data but this data seems to viewed as less accurate and there are limits on its use (e.g., only 900m height loss instead of 1000m for LoH calculations, and for height gains such as your Gold Alt Gain it suggests you need to add an additional 100m – see 2.4.3.c )

I’ve always used pressure altitudes as a result.
