SUMMARY:
The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Schempp-Hirth Flugzeugbau GmbH Model Duo Discus and Duo Discus T gliders. This proposed AD was prompted by reports of gliders’ canopies opening during air tow. This proposed AD would require modifying the canopy locking mechanism. The FAA is proposing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
DATES:
The FAA must receive comments on this NPRM by October 15, 2024.
