JUNIOR SOARING

Soaring as a sport fosters the best in young adults. Adding young pilots to our membership has manifold benefits. The SSA is proud to sponsor and support junior programs and their activities. The Junior Soaring Committee oversees a full range of yearly scholarships to recruit junior members at large, develop skills among young SSA members, and publicize their achievements.

Created in 1995 and redefined in 2003, the US Team Committee has been tasked by the SSA Board of Directors to, “oversee the affairs of the Soaring Society of America with respect to its representation at Federation Aéronautique International (FAI) approved World Gliding Championships” In the last several years the committee has been making progress toward the goals of a more competitive, accountable, transparent and sustainable US Team program.
