Gearing up for the Region 8 Contest

Race days are almost here!  In a little less than a week, I'll be in Ephrata, WA for 9 straight days of flying (with a little luck and some help from the weather Gods).  I hope to post on this Blog every night, to keep folks appraised of what's going on at the contest.

Last Saturday I retrieved my ship from Lake Aero in Chelan, WA.  The glider was getting its belly repaired after a gear-collapse incident in early May.  They did a fine job and I got in a short (235km) but fast flight.

This week I have to get a lot of work done at the office, pack for Ephrata, study for the race, and hopefully still have time to spend with my Sweetheart!  Its going to be a busy time, and I'll be relieved once I'm actually in Ephrata and ready to fly.

I will take my camera gear to the contest and hopefully shoot some photos and video; but my experience trying to do so last year was that there was way too much going on to try to film and fly.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed, though!
