Sorry for the delay in posting...  The contest wrapped up for me with a bit of a disappointing land-out; but I was able to make enough distance to stay in 5th place overall.

The retrieve was "interesting" - involving my parents helping get my glider out of a field ringed with barbed wire (NOTE: a "Leatherman" multi-tool is invaluable for flying cross-country).

All in all the contest was disappointing weather, but more than satisfying in terms of the flying and the challenges!  It was a huge learning experience and a whole lot of fun...  My fellow competitors were gracious and helpful, both with equipment and with advice. I'll definitely be entering more contests in the future - I just need to figure out how to get more vacation time each year!! ;-)

Thanks for following along,
