SSA West Coast Junior Camp/Contest - Day 3 March 24

Today was fairly weak with low bases and lots of high cloud coverage.

Earlier in the day climbs were very weak (1.5 knot average max), but conditions improved throughout the day topping off at around 3 knot average climbs.

Task was:

Start: 3Siters 3 miles

70Montgomery 16 miles

Finish: 1WSC 1 mile

Most were able to make it around the task, though those with higher glide ratio (Ben & I) definitely had an advantage since we didn't have to be as high to maintain safe landout options.

Days like today are very good contest practice, it's the weak days that make or break contests!
