May 30 - Another windy and wet day

Boundary layer winds of 30+ knots and rain likely by early afternoon provided plenty of reasons for the CD to cancel the day.

Karen and I spent the day hanging out at the airport and visiting. Dick Butler gave a very interesting talk about the Concordia open class sailplane he is building along with Waibel, Boermans and a few other skilled engineers.

We then watched Gary Ittner and Ray Gimmey make minor repairs to their water dump valves.

And after lunch, we flew kites until it started to rain.

This evening, there was a catered chicken and rib dinner at a party cabin on the lake. Although it rained of and on, a good time was had by all.
