Re-Cap of 4-25-14 Wave Flight

Fabulous day, with a bit too much moisture. An hour after landing at Rosamond, we got a downpour of rain which is unheard of for late April in the Mojave Desert. That night Mammoth ski resort reported 21 inches of snow. However Kirkwood ski resort (SW of Minden) got 28 inches of snow the same night!

Flew almost 1,000 miles (1614 km). 1500 OLC points. http://www.onlinecontest.org/olc-2.0/gliding/flightinfo.html?dsId=3579041

Ran out of turn points with couple of hours of daylight left. Toured around Rosamond (Antelope Valley) waiting for strong crosswinds to abate near sunset. (If not, then would have landed at Fox Field 10 miles south of Rosamond.)

Thanks to neighbors Eric, Greg, Beth, and Bill who helped upon landing. Thanks to Stewart and Aikiko who helped all day.

Till the next time,

Jackie
