AD Issued for DG-505MB and DG-800B motorgliders

This US FAA AD affects all DG-500MB and all DG-800B sailplanes certificated in any category. Compliance must be within 25 hours time-in-service (TIS) after June 30, 2005 (the effective date of this AD).

Propellers on the Solo engines can overheat and deform in the engine bay following retraction, if not provided adequate cooling time before closing the bay, on days of high ambient temperatures ( >25C/77F). This AD requires inspection for any existing damage, immediate replacement of damaged propellers and changes to the Operating Handbook. Handbook changes may be made by a Private Pilot.
