AD Issued on Dimona H-36 airbrakes 2011-21-19

Diamond Aircraft H-36 Dimona; Airbrake torsion tube.

A Dimona (Hoffman) H-36 powered sailplane experienced a failure of an airbrake torsion tube due to corrosion damage.

This AD contains instructions to test and inspect the air brake control system torsion tube for corrosion damage and, depending on findings, the application of anticorrosive agent to the inside of the torsion tube, or replacement of the torsion tube with a serviceable part. The AD requires five year repetitive inspections following replacement also.

 The effective date of this AD is November 23, 2011.
