NSM Soaring History Symposium and Hall Of Fame Reunion Banquet

The seventh Soaring History Symposium will be held at the National Soaring Museum on April 30 - May 1, 2010. The purpose of the Symposium is to encourage interest in the preservation of soaring history through two days of scholarly presentations, soaring life stories, and impromptu soaring recollections.

The weekend starts on April 30th with the Community Soaring Luncheon bringing together community leaders, members and symposium participants.  The luncheon is always a great start to the weekend and is followed by a guided tour of the museum.

This year's Symposium presentations promise to be some of the best ever.  They include presenters Klas Ohman, Jim Short, Peter Smith, Russell Lee, Jorg Shaden, Frauke Elber and Tom Knauff.  The weekend boasts a special treat, back in the air after 40 years, the flight of Schweizer SGS 1-21 No. 1.

Then history meets accomplishment at a very special Hall Of Fame Reunion Banquet which closes this exciting weekend Saturday evening May 1.  You can catch up with old friends and help honor Doris Grove (1988) on receiving the FAI Pelagia Majewska Medal.

For information or reservations call the National Soaring Museum at (607) 734-3128 or e-mail at nsm@soaringmuseum.org.
