OSTIV requests damage reports

For several years, OSTIV's Sailplane Development Panel (SDP) has been conducting research on sailplane design, with particular emphasis on handling and crashworthiness.  All the glider manufacturers, and recently, airworthiness authorities have been paying attention to the conclusions and recommendations made by OSTIV.

In an effort to improve crashworthiness of sailplane cockpits,  SDP has recently put out a worldwide call for damage reports from actual crashes.  IGC, via a letter from President Bob Henderson, fully supports this voluntary program.

The Cockpit Damage Report Form, with instructions, is available here.  Information received by SDP will be used for scientific purposes only.
