Horst Haneke

He was born in Germany in 1933 and learned how to fly gliders while getting his Phd. in Munster, Germany. In 1963 he moved to Ponce, Puerto Rico to lead a chemical company owned by Boehringer Ingelheim. He led this company until it shut down in 1996. He took a Ka6CR with him. His three children learned how to fly this plane. Later he had an ASW-20CL shipped to Puerto Rico. Soaring over the Cordillera Central in Puerto Rico was great. In 1996 he retired and moved to Fincastle, Virginia where he continued to fly his ASW-20 in Newcastle, Virginia.
