Stewart Kissel

As a father, I had hoped Stewart would enjoy gliding as I had. At age 14, I instructed and soloed him in the club 2-33 and took him along in various 2 seaters where we took turns flying. When he left home for college and then a job, I heard all about skiing but no soaring. In his 30's he would join me on BASA safaris in Nevada, Utah and Wyoming. He flew better than his old man with no updates during the year. While working at Vail, he bought a Ventus and resumed flying in the beautiful Rockies out of Salida, Colorado. I crewed for him some years. He was a cautious pilot. Then came the news on Oct.26, 2007 of his fatal crash. Good Bye Stewart- Emil and Mary Lou Kissel
