Region 5 North - 19 April report

Another severely blue day - in the sense of absolutely no cumulus clouds - in South Carolina.  This one was troubled by clouds of a different stripe: bands of cirrus.  The Retrieve Office stayed busy all day, and in the end more than 20 pilots had incomplete tasks. (Some avoided an outlanding by returning home early, in a number of cases assisted by an engine.)

Best speeds by finishers were shy of 55 mph, and the mighty Concordia barely managed 50 mph.  The outstanding flight of the day was by Rich Owen (ASG-29) in 18-Meter class: He stayed out of trouble and earned a score 100 points better than second place, putting him first overall.
