Region 4 South - Party to the max and tomorrow we fly

Unfortunatly the weather has not cooperated for the first two scheduled competition days; but that has left us to enjoy the outstanding hospitality of the BRSS membership. It has even been joked that bringing a glider to BRSS unnecessarily complicates the experience and this year is no exception.

In addition to nightly sitting around the blazing fire pit and impromptu musical entertainment, the organized events just keep on coming.

Saturday evening was the welcoming spaghetti dinner.

The practice day Sunday saw a few folks fly the task with large kettles of migrating broadwing hawks supplimented by occasional bald eagles and golden eagles.

No one stayed out late on the practice day Sunday as we were all the guests of Thecla and Lanier Frantz at their beautiful home overlooking the field. Uber-gracious hosts, the food was great and the company better.

This evening we were invaded by ghouls and goblins, as the fire-house chicken dinner by Iron Chef John Molumphy was turned into a pre-Halloween costume party (and birthday party for Franki Pate).  Be sure to check out the costumes in the picture gallery.

Weather for Wednesday looks flyable, and everyone is looking forward to being in the air again.

Follow the action on the sailplane tracker.
