Standard and 15 Meter Nationals - Trivia...Wood is Good

George Moffat won every day but one at the 1970 Standard Nationals.  Who won the one day George did not?

Why the Not-Yet-Dreaded SierraMike, of course!  (Note that in the contest article in Soaring Magazine he was mistaken for his father, Ed.)  The task for the day was an area distance (cats-cradle).  John Seymour, then 6M a Ka-6E, flew 131.7 miles for the win.  Cirruses and Libelles were the hot ships back then, but wood was still competitive. And there was no handicapping!

Which leads in to nicely the next trivia question:
What was the day winner’s prize at the 1970 Standard Nationals?
