18 Meter, Open and US Club Class Nationals - End of day

DT Dave Coggins  First leg was decent then blued out at 1st turn, cut it a little short.  2nd turn out in the blue working with JP to second turn and we separated and at the 3rd, Tokio, got low down to 1000, maybe 800.  Dumped all my water and was able to climb up and actually got to 10,000 and tried to work myself to last TP which was in blue.  Barely made the circle with  max L over D and halfway  at Lovington  from 7,500 to 8,500

It was a tough task. We were not in the best lift of the day.

X8    J.P Stewart     Interesting day. I stuck to the east for most of 1st leg down course line.  Got a little low at 1st turn 1500 or so.  Found a few gliders and we touched the 2nd and had a nice time in the blue before we all went across a 20 mile blue hole,  connected w/clouds and limped home.
We talked about shortening it.  Its really rough in the north.  I was 30 minutes over.
