18 Meter, Open and US Club Class Nationals - Morning report

Yesterday's winner US Club

UN Mike Westbrook   I wanted to start early went out past Eunice and didn't feel like I was connecting, so I came back to restart.  Hobbs got high, turned at Eunice and could see 2nd turn was overdeveloping so went around and was able to reconnect and had tailwind to 3rd turn.

Today:   We are on the backside of a cold front today and temps will be 5-8 degrees cooler. Northeast winds aloft 10-12 knots.  Good cu fields over task area.  Some cirrus blow off tracking over the contest area in the am from storms to the Northwest.  The cirrus overcast will probably clear the area by start time.  It should be noted that the weatherman expressed far greater uncertainty today.  10% chance T-storms except in the souther 1/3 of the task area.  3.5 to 4.5 knot  best 6 knot lift.

Grid: 11:30  expect 1st launch 12:00
