2015 Seniors Soaring Championship - Mar 17 Report

Today we had the severely blue conditions that were forecast yesterday.  Just a few small and short-lived cumulus clouds were evident, but most pilots had to struggle through much of their flights.  This led to a few landouts, some motor starts, and speeds that were well down from those seen earlier in the week.

It was another good day for Bif Huss, who notched his third straight day win with 54 mph over 150 miles. He noted that his long drive from Colorado to Florida was mostly through rain, which had him wondering whether this was a sensible journey to undertake in March.  Eight straight days of good soaring weather in Florida has removed all doubt.
