Sports Class Nationals - Day 3 Weather

FORECAST DISCUSSION:

THE PERSISTENT LOW CLOUD DECK THAT BROUGHT MUCH OF THE REGION YET
ANOTHER DAY OF UNSEASONABLY COOL TEMPERATURES YESTERDAY HAS
CONTINUED TO SHRINK IN COVERAGE DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AND
SHOULD BE JUST ABOUT GONE BY DAYBREAK. HOWEVER...ADDITIONAL LOW
STRATUS AND EVEN SOME PATCHY FOG IS MOVING UP FROM THE SOUTH...BUT
THESE CLOUDS ARE THINNER AND SHOULD MIX OUT PRETTY QUICKLY THIS
MORNING. SO THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT MUCH MORE SUNSHINE IS EXPECTED
TODAY WHICH MEANS HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL REBOUND INTO THE MID 90S
IN THE WEST TO THE MID TO UPPER 80S OVER THE EAST.

TRIGGER:

TEMP: 85 F TIME: 1:15 FORECAST HIGH: 90-92

LIFT:

STRENGTH: 350 FPM      HEIGHT: 5000 FT

COMMENTS: Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 90. South southeast wind around 5 mph. A FEW SMALL STORMS IN WEST TEXAS ARE THROWING OFF CIRRUS THAT IS MOVING THROUGH THE AREA FROM NW TO SE. SEEMS TO BE THINNING OUT AT 8 AM SO DON’T EXPECT IT TO BE AS BIG OF AN ISSUE AS PREVIOUS CONTEST DAYS. BETTER SOARING WILL TAKE PLACE TO THE WEST WHERE SURFACE TEMPERATURES WILL BE WARMER. VERY LIGHT SOUTH WINDS PREDICTED ALL DAY.
