Sports Class Nationals - Friday Weather

FORECAST DISCUSSION:

SO FAR DFW HAS ALREADY SET A RECORD LOW OF 65 FOR TODAY BREAKING

THE OLD RECORD OF 67 IN 1945. THE LAST TIME DFW SET A RECORD LOW

IN JULY WAS IN 1994. THE RECORD LOW FOR DFW ON THE 19TH IS 68

LAST SET IN 1990. THE CURRENT FORECAST CALLS FOR A LOW OF 67

THE RAIN EVENT ENDED MUCH EARLIER THAN PREVIOUSLY
ANTICIPATED AS YESTERDAY/S CONVECTION PUSHED THE FRONT THROUGH THE
REGION MUCH FASTER THAN EXPECTED.

THE REMAINDER OF THE FORECAST LOOKS MOSTLY DRY AS THE
UPPER LEVEL RIDGE BUILDS ACROSS THE WESTERN CONUS AND EXTENDS INTO
THE NORTH AND CENTRAL TEXAS REGIONS. EXPECT A NEAR RECORD COOL
DAY TODAY AS HIGH TEMPERATURES RANGE FROM THE MID 70S TO MID 80S.
THE RECORD HIGH MINIMUM FOR TODAY AT DFW IS 79 DEGREES AND IS 86
DEGREES AT WACO. THE FORECAST TODAY CALLS FOR A HIGH OF 79 DEGREES
AT DFW AND 82 DEGREES AT WACO. TEMPERATURES TODAY WILL BE WELL
BELOW NORMAL VALUES DUE TO CLOUDY SKIES BUT IF THE CLOUDS CLEAR
QUICKER THAN EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON...A RAPID WARM UP MAY OCCUR.

COMMENTS:

Cloudy, with a high near 79. North wind around 10 mph. NORTH WIND SLOWLY TURNING NORTHEAST THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. WILD VARIATION IN FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURE. EXPECT CLOUD COVER MOST OF THE DAY WHICH WILL HOLD TEMPERATURES DOWN.  NAM AND RAP APPARENTLY EXPECT NO BREAKING UP WITH TEMPERATURES HELD DOWN IN THE LOW 70’S. THAT’S PROBABLY UNLIKELY. NWS SAYS 79, WEATHER CHANNEL SAYS 81. BOTH NAM AND RAP AGREE ON 78 DEGREE TRIGGER TEMPERATURE WHICH WOULD COME LATE IN THE DAY IF YOU BELIEVE THE MORE OPTIMISTIC TEMPERATURE PREDICTIONS. PRECIP HAS MOVED OUT OF THE AREA, AS HAVE MOST OF THE HIGH CLOUD COVER.

TSA RECEIVED ONLY ABOUT .25” OF RAIN. THIS LIGHTER AREA EXTENDS SOUTH TOWARDS WACO AND WEST. MUCH HEAVIER AMOUNTS TO THE NORTH AND ABOUT AN INCH WAS RECORDED IN THE AREA SOUTH OF CORSICANA AS WELL AS SOUTH OF A CLEBURNE TO STEPHENVILLE LINE.
