15 Meter/Open Class Nationals - 530 pm report

"Overall the day was a good thermal day with clouds all along the course.  Bases were 12,000 in SW Turnpoint to 14,000 in east most turnpoint.  No clouds at the last circle, so most skimmed the last circle.  Lots of cruising under the clouds, but the good cores were few and far between, strong however, some 7-8 knots, but most were 4-5knots.  Unlike yesterday, it seemed like we didn't have the consistant lift staged around the course.  8 or 9 knotters were isolated and if you counted on finding them you might get low"  Walt Rogers, WX weatherman and pilot.
