18 Meter Nationals - End of task thoughts about the call

"Challenging, but a good task.  The good guys made good speeds" YO Dave Nadler whose max altitude was 15,000 ft.

"Pretty good at first, then not so good with lots of sink and lift that was far apart.  It was great at Topaz and I worked to 15,000 ft. at Mt. Grant" YC Rick Indrebo whose max altitude was 15,000 ft.

"This was not your classic Minden day and very challenging. No cu and lots of ginger ale, nothing solid.  Thank good ness for a 9 knotter at Yerington Valley." DJ Doug Jacobs, whose max altitude was 13,000 ft.

"The day was a little slower starting than expected and remained blue all over the task area.  Thermal strength varied from 4-8knots In the northern half of the task area it was difficult to get above 12,000.  Later in the day, down in the Smith Valley one thermal went to 14,000.  Thermals tended to be small and rough and widely scattered."  SZ Sam Zimmerman regarding the weather and conditions.

Team Minden is the best.  I expect many more competitions in the future.  John Godfrey promises a wrap up of the contest.
