Standard Class Nationals - Evening report

It proved to be the best day of the contest thus far, but not even the fastest pilots were willing to call it easy.  Cloudbases reached the predicted levels (5500' MSL) but lift was generally weak, cumulus clouds became sparse, and several pilots were out of reach of home when the day died (not long after 5pm).

Gary Ittner was best, at just over 47 mph.  Rich Owen held onto his overall lead, but saw it shrink to just 29 points.  With two days to go (and a forecast of decent weather) there's still a lot to play for.
