Standard Class Nationals - Mid afternoon report

No tasks today.

With a decent amount of sun on the ground, Jason Arnold was launched as sniffer.  He was able to stay aloft, but only in ridge-assisted lift over the high ground east of the airfield.  His attempt to find sources of lift sufficient for all gliders resulted in a reasonably smooth ride back to the ground.

Tonight's mission is an expedition to the town of Tellico Plains, home to a food pavilion featuring various choices including wood-fired pizza (said to be well worth the 25-mile drive).  This town is also the start of the Cherohala Skyway, a famous scenic road into the Smoky Mountains that rises from 800' to nearly 5400'.
