Region 10 Soaring Championship - UPDATED And they are off Commentary from Contest Day 3

WEATHER: HOT and Sunny .. start of the day is blue.

It is a challenging day today .. 2 of our fearless pilots had to relaunch but all the brave pilots are aloft.  The peanut gallery from the official flight operations building (FOB) all agree: today is blue, blue, and did I mention blue.

TASK: Today is a Modified Assigned Task with a minimum time of 3 hours and 30 min.  All pilots are required to start at Eagle Rock Ranch.

Here is a pilots view of the task from takeoff:

RESULTS: Frank Paynter won the day - another 1000 points and he's leading the contest at 3986 points.

STORY OF THE DAY:  Keith Miller is our story of the day .. here are his quotes:  "Don't get too low, goats and horses are very interested in gliders, and most importantly pre-flight your trailer before cross country flights.  Also, Don't forget to buy an extra contest t-shirt for the rancher who owns the field that you land out in."  Here is a view of his landout.
