18 Meter Nationals - Day 2 - The Fun Continues

Hi Race Fans,

With some possibility of thunderstoms back at the field at the end of the day, we chose to stick to a 3.5 hour MAT today with a nominal distance 270 mi. The sniffer started slow, but once it popped folks were at cloudbase and some reported wave that got them higher.

As the launch progressed unexpedted cu began forming along the first leg, boding well for high speeds.  Indeed, several pilots reported over 100mph first legs.

A small storm on the final leg got everyones attention, as final glides got repeatedly and quiclky recalculated to accommodate for the sink.

In the end, P7, JK adn DJ finsihed 1-2-3 one point apart at 88mph, with DJ flying 348 mi.

Flying pilots are smiling pilots.
