Sports Class Nationals - Contest Day 4 Report

Contest Day 4 Report

Today signaled that the Sports Class Nationals 2010 is an official competition.  Four contest days  are needed for a competition to be a real contest.

The day started off with a Pilot’s Meeting.  Mr. Stringfellow predicted high winds but wore a white hat anyway; he said that there some cumulus clouds to the North.  Soaring Court was called to order.  And the daily prizes were given out.

Grid time was set for noon, and the sniffer went up at 12:15 PM.  First launch was at 12:35 PM.  All planes were in the air in an hour and 12 minutes.  And there were five re-lights.  There were no land outs.

The task for the day included going Southeast to Bryce Canyon, going north to Buck Peak, and returning South Southwest to Parowan.
