18-Meter Nationals - Contest Day 4 Report

Hi race fans,

I will be posting contest meetings and reports on YouTube. In the name of the movie the first number is the date, the second number is the military time, if there are more than one movie for that hour p1, p2, etc. will be added to the end. If you have any questions or problems, please get in touch.

At the pilot's meeting this morning, Linda announced that we will grid at 11:30 a.m. Tom reported that the conditions were similar to the last contest day. There was no applause.

Now, it's about 1:30 p.m. and most of the field is off. Now we'll go watch the Spot race being projected on the clubhouse patio. Thanks to Rolf Hegele for setting this up.

The task today is TAT with 35 Unfer with a 15 mile radius, 19 Madison with a 15 mile radius and 16 Hook with a 10 mile radius. It's 4:45 p.m. now and some of the group are heading for Hook. They broke up into two groups, the first just went tot he center of Unfer and headed to clip Madison Co., the other group went deep into Unfer and it looked like they planned to do the same for Madison Co. It's great to watch them, real time. I just checked and most of the contestants have formed up in a group just leaving the Madison Co. circle, headed for home.
