18 Meter Nationals - Day 7 Afternoon Report

The frontal passage occurred last night and today is cooler.  We also had some rain overnight, although only a trace.   The Pacific trough is still working its way across the State and the weather models are in considerable disagreement as to the soaring conditions to expect.   So at the pilots meeting there were 3 potential directions for a MAT called.  With over development in all quadrants expected.  On the grid it was obvious that the western areas were washing out and the southern area was not developing as expected.  With the weather uncertainties, the call was a 3.5 hour MAT with a mandatory first turn point of Odessa.
