SSA Financial Reports

SSA conducts operations through several distinct operating groups, each of which separately reports it's financial performance. The largest of these groups is "Core Operations," which is comprised of (1) dues revenue and membership services, (2) Soaring Magazine (including advertising), (3) merchandise sales, (4) income from contributions, (5) convention activities, and (6) headquarters operations. Financial reports for Core Operations (income statements and balance sheets) are available by clicking on the lnks found father down on this page.

The SSA Foundation, which holds and manages funds that have been donated to SSA, provides a separate financial report that is the responsibility of the SSA Foundation Trustees and links to which are also available farther down on this page.

The U.S. Soaring Team also reports it's financial information separately on the webpage for the Team; set out still farther donw on this page is some information about the Team, which includes a link to their webpage.

The Soaring Safety Foundation (SSF) has a separate website that provides information about the operations of that organization; however, the SSF website does not currently include financial information about that group's operations. For questions about SSF finances, please contact a member of the SSF.

THE SSA FOUNDATION

The SSA, through the SSA Foundation, manages and invests long-term trust and endowment funds that have been established for various purposes in support of soaring activities.  Special gifts from members, which form the backbone of the Foundation, are very important to the SSA and its ability to operate in the future. The goals of the Foundation are to ensure that such gifts are well managed and put to good use, and, of course, to encourage more giving.

Links to SSA Foundation reports and financial statements can be found under the link, "Board Reports and Financial Information" on the right hand side of the SSAF homepage, which can be accessed by clicking here.

US Soaring Team Reports

Photo #9518 | US Team Logo smallSince 1950, the Soaring Society of America has fielded United States Soaring Teams to World Gliding Championships with honor and distinction. Over the years five United States pilots have earned the prestigious title of World Champion. Exciting changes to world level competitive soaring have been occurring. New classes, new events and even new championships have evolved out of the IGC/FAI international strategy to grow the sport. The six person U.S. Team Committee was recently re-worked with three elected members to provide a more accountable, transparent, sustainable and competitive team program.

Competitive soaring rewards excellence while supplying some of the spark that keeps our sport going. Our soaring teams are representatives of our nation and our soaring community internationally. Competitive soaring, the prospect of team membership and international competition builds participation in the sport, provides motivation to achieve at a higher level and pushes the boundaries of pilot skill and technology.

The U.S. Soaring Team are funded through personal contributions from the soaring community. Your contribution makes participation possible.

All U.S. Soaring Team Reports are accessible in the US Team section of the SSA website. Click here to see the latest financial and other reports from the U.S. Team Committee.
